The Bellevue Bicycle Club, also known as the BBC, is all about having fun, developing friendships and achieving fitness on one of mankind's most unique creations, the bicycle.  BBC membership encompasses the Bellevue and Omaha/Council Bluffs metro together with many out-of-town cycling enthusiasts.  Our focus is primarily recreational cycling but includes, touring, off-road, bicycle commuting.  The club even has a few racers and triathletes.  We host local social rides each week and participate in many multiday rides including RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa), TDN (Tour de Nebraska) and BRAN (Bicycle Ride Across Nebraska).  Meetings are monthly and beginners are welcomed.

Meetings usually are the first Monday of the month @7:00PM.
The June meeting will be held on June 11th as a number of BBC members are participating in BRAN 32 June 3rd - 9th, 2012.
The location of the next BBC meeting will be at:

Richmont Village
702 Fort Crook Road South
Bellevue NE 68005

Non-members are welcome! Come check us out.

One important benefit of club membership is access to our Yahoo Group. This group has access to our Club Calendar where ride information is posted and an email option for communicating other club related announcements.

It is located at: http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/bbc_nebraska_omaha/

We encourage our members to log their cycling miles using bikejournal.com

The Bikes Belong Foundation created the peopleforbikes.org movement in 2010, with the goal to gather a million names of support, to speak with one powerful voice — to let policy makers, the media and the public know that bicycling is important and should be promoted.

Of course, we are participating in today's Social Media.  If you are logged onto Facebook, then click this link and 'Like' our page.  We promise to send out occasional updates about cycling related activities:

Bellevue Loop Trail Closure

The entire length of the Bellevue Loop Trail, running south from Haworth Park atop the Missouri River R-616 Levee remains closed.  Considerable Missouri River flood cleanup, silt removal and minor levee repairs will make it unsafe for trail users.  More info on metro trails is available at the Papio NRD website.
